NAPHL Showcase Blaine: Roughriders 0 Motor City Metal Jackets 3

The Roughriders fell to the Motor City Metal Jackets 0-3 on Saturday afternoon in Blaine, Minnesota. The fourth game of the NAPHL Showcase had the 2-1-0 Roughriders squaring off against the 0-0-3 Motor City Metal Jackets. The Metal Jackets had lost all three of their games in Overtime Shootouts coming in to this game. The Metal Jackets came out of the gates shooting and netted two quick goals in the first period to set the tempo. The Roughriders weren't able to respond before intermission, which was taken at the 8:30 mark of the second period.

After the intermission break and fresh ice make the Roughriders again tried to get some momentum, but penalties from both teams killed any chance at a rally. The Roughriders managed only 8 shots in the game and have netted 3 goals in 4 games while allowing 7 goals against over the same 4 games while at the Showcase. Penalties were once again a big factor in this game and prevented any continuity from the offense. Shots in the game favored the Metal Jackets 19-8.

The Roughriders face the 3-1-0 Detroit Falcons tomorrow morning.
