NAPHL Showcase Blaine: Roughriders 2 Pittsburgh Viper Stars 1

Thursday night brought the second game of the day and the second game of the Showcase. The game kicked off and it was immediately noticed that the Roughriders came out of the gate with more intensity and more desire. The Roughriders allowed the first goal against at 1:13 of the 1st Period. It quickly became apparent that the referee's wanted to be noticed in this match. No infraction was going unnoticed. Thomas Jarman and Nate Guymon figured that out pretty quickly as they were thrown in the box right away for what appeared to be normal play.

Adam Durkee netted the only goal of the game for the Roughriders and his second for the tournament at 9:28 of the 3rd period to tie the game. The game ended in regulation at 1-1 followed by a shootout. After 20 man per side, the game was finally decided and the Roughriders eeked out a well deserved victory to move to 2-0 for the Showcase.
